Private ALBERT EDWARD BONE

Albert, third son of Robert Bone, a farrier and cow leech, and Lavinia (k/a Elizabeth) Bone, was born in West Street, Odiham in 1878.
He was the elder brother of Ernest Douglas Bone. In the 1911 census he was single and living with his mother and younger brother, Andrew, in West Street. He was described as a house painter. It appears that he left his belongings to his brother, Ernest and these then went to Ernest’s widow, Annie.

Ernest and Albert are 1st cousins, 3 times removed, of Mr Seymour who has returned to Odiham after his family moved away 150 years ago. Mr Seymour is also 2nd cousin, twice removed of Arthur Bone.
Albert was killed in action whilst serving with the 8th Bn., Princess Charlotte of Wales’s (Royal Berkshire Regiment).
He was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
